Uncle Soren is still the lion in the Jungle

It seems that that eternal Jungle Raja of Indian Politics Shibu Soren has done another U-turn,this one being the “n+1″th. And the current victim here seems to be the BJP with whom he had come on an agreement to switch powers for the Chief Ministerial post in Jharkhand.

He is a veteran at these gimmicks.Not-so-long ago,he was the hero who had voted against the Bharathiya Janatha Party and the NDA in the cut motion and later alleged that it was his memory loss that took him to such a step in the Parliament.And the democracy that we are in,a man suffering from memory loss becomes the Chief Minister of a state.

Mohammad Ajmal Kasab’ last hopes could be on him.Sad fact being,its going to be hard for Soren to manage access to Kasab’ files in this case.

Watching the news has become a depressing affair,this past few weeks.First it was Reservation-ed Raja with his tapes and his compromising positions,then came about Pramod Muthalik with riots on offer and right now is the World T20 aftermath.Every other of the “n” news channels thriving in this country got a scoop for themselves,which I thought preserved their work for the rest of the day.For,all they needed to do was to play them on and on and on all day and if luck permitted bring the accused on air and conduct a media trial.

It feels funny to watch News Hour with Arnab Goswami every night at 9 on the Times.The way he goes about things,I am praying for a day when nothing untoward happens in this country (which is ofcourse highly improbable considering it is Indi-Yeah after all! ).What would he go barking about then? Infact,he can make it into movies big time with his over dramatizations,timing and all that.And all the judiciary in this country be awarded rest days thanks to his trials on live television.

Having said this,it is indeed commendable on the part of all the media houses putting up such brave heart cover stories which is keeping everyone on tenterhooks each day.But then,it is the way they deal with a big news story that leaves a lot to be desired.Maybe there is something everyone needs to learn from Prannoy Roy and NDTV.India @ 9 is such a wonderful experience thanks to Dr.Roy and so have been their strategies with the breaking news.

….. Not that it runs perfectly to a script,but that I have in most ways finally mastered the art of having a perfect move on.Narcissism or whatever is the reason.This realization should have struck a couple of years ago,less of heartache if not anything more.

Anyway! Holidays are always boring after the initial hullabaloo.And approvals rule the roost for work in the summer.Once they come my way,things should get a move on that way too.And yesterday marked the nth breakup with a good friend….!!!!!!

Life goes on,oh-so-normal and oh-so-awesome.
